The other day I went out to eat with a good friend of mine. We don't get to go out much and she's really helped me out a lot. Probably more than she knows! So I wanted to take her someplace different.
The original plan was CostCo. But it's pretty far away and we don't REALLY have the time for that. So I thought maybe Thai food would be great! We went and it was closed. Ok.... Maybe Korean food! Nope, that's closed, too. Hmmmmm... Luckily, across the street was an Indian curry place I had wanted to try out before. And it was open! Yes!
So we walk in, order and chat for a while. ^-^ Then the food comes. Mmmmmm, looks good!
My friend is from Jamaica, by the way. ^-^ So here we are, a Jamaican and an American out for lunch at an Indian curry restaurant in Japan. Lol! Love it!
We split an order of veggie samosa. Here's my half. It was my first time to try it. I'd definitely have it again. ^-^
And we noticed a big difference in our preferences. Here we are almost finished.
A Jamaican would have about 1/2 the amount of curry seen in the first picture with 1/4 of the plate a salad or veggies of some sort. While I, the American, would rather have more curry than rice. (For the record, the salad sounds great, too!) I was stuffed by the end of this and my friend was comfortably full.
Good food with great company equals a fabulous lunch date! Let's dweet again sometime, yeah?!

Soccer DJ
Yeah, I am on an old pics kick... This was taken probably a year ago. The father of one of DJ's classmate took it. I really wanted to upload this and some of the other pics as well, but things don't always go as planned...
Anyway, I give you Soccer DJ!

GAP
Well, I am sitting here checking out our blog and low and behold I find a whole 2 and a half year gap in it!! Wow! That is a pretty big gap! From the time Jessica was a year old and we went to see the horses until Nobu posted about our trip to the outlet mall there is NOTHING. There are some major events that happened in that gap, how on earth did we miss posting about them?!
Well, I am pretty sure that we just got really busy with our new life. For starters...
1) About a month after that last post in 2009, we found out we might be moving! Our first move in Japan! Anyway, we moved to our new place in the middle of September 2009. We love it here! Such a nice place to live, though it has truthfully been difficult to switch gears and have NOOOOO babysitters around. But oh well! We have our own place. ^-^
2) DJ started kindergarten!! About 6 months after we moved, in April 2010. That was a fun adventure. Yes, I say was because he is now a FIRST GRADER! Crazy how fast time moves, ESPECIALLY when you have kids! Anyway, he really enjoyed it. And I have to say that it made me a lot busier than I wanted to be. But at least we had great friends to enjoy the journey with!! And it was a really fun and fast ride! ^-^
3) My brother and his family came to visit that summer, in May and June of 2010. Our first family members from America to visit us in Japan and the only family on my side, as of yet, to have met Jessica! We had a great time with them!!
4) Baby Dyu #3! ^-^ About a year after moving out here, I guess things settled down enough and we became expectant parents again! ^-^ It was a horrible first trimester filled with major tiredness and nausea more than I had with the first two. I think having to do everything myself this time around made things tougher. But it was well worth it!
5) The Great East Japan Earthquake. March 11, 2011. My due date was May 27, 2011, about 2 months after the quake, so I was a big, beached whale at this point! But through the grace and protection of our great Lord and Savior, we made it through fine. And with no damage whatsoever in our apartment, either. My sis Michelle kept saying that we should name the baby Lucky!
6) The birth of our third baby, a girl. Caroline Kazumi Hirosawa. She was born on May 24th, 2011at 3:58am. She weighed 3564 grams (7 lbs 13 oz)and was 49 cm (19.3in) long. Her name in Japanese is キャロライン和美. Her name means 'Free' as in free man and 'Beautiful Harmony' as in beautifully harmonious (the general meaning of harmony, not JUST musically).

Well, that's a lotta words and not a lotta pics. So I think I'll stop here. Besides, motherly duties call! Hope to update this blog more often. If there is anything you want to see or hear about on here, please let one of us know!! Thanks for watching. Good night. ^-^

Look who's talking now!
Well, Caroline is talking! By the way, she's been talking for quite a while now. But now she is learning new words and copying our speech better. Some of the words she uses daily include ice, dada, nooo, mama and mil (milk). Watching her learn and use new words is just so fun! She loves to dance and chomp on ice cubes (not necessarily at the same time). She can also say things like apple, ba ba (bark bark), cracka (cracker) and ca- (car). She often says da da instead of DJ (LOL!). And she really smiles a lot! ^-^ It is TONS of fun watching the other two play with her. She LOVES them so much! And we all love her, too. ^-^
Well, I hope you've enjoyed reading about some of the things she is up to. I also hope to post more often! I really need the practice!! And of course it is something I enjoy sharing. Later!
